Back in June we went to the London Transport Museum. Alongside all the buses and trains you can explore, there is simple design style that is constant throughout the ages that I love.
The current Poster Art Exhibiton is stunning and a real walk through history. The 1930's posters are all so stylish and glamorous, a stark contrast to the War Time posters which were very grey and full of practical advice. Followed swiftly by the fun and modern 1950's posters, it's a real journey!
It was great fun for the children too, a stamp trail and 'driving' buses seem to equal child heaven. Hoping we can squeeze in another visit before the end of the holidays, which are flying by waaaaay to quickly for my liking.
That sounds like a great exhibition. I love the pictures you've shared with us.
ReplyDeleteI love the transport museum, such fun. But really adore the graphics. The museum shop is one of my favourites in all of London! Geek.
ReplyDeleteThis looks like a fab day out. I love old transport and travel posters, they were always so beautifully designed. x
